Emergency Telecommunications Training was recently conducted for DEM volunteers (District Emergency Organisations, St. John Ambulance, Barbados Red Cross, Roving Response Team and the Barbados Citizen Band Radio Association) as well as for members of the DEM support staff who operate in telecommunications roles in emergency events.

Training was facilitated by Mr. Lionel Ellis, through funding obtained from the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Climate Change Disaster Management (CCDM) Project, September 30 – October 1, 2011.

The course incorporated lecture presentations and hands-on/practical applications in telecommunications and was held in the DEM Conference room.
